We're here to make storage simple, stress-free, and secure. If you have questions, you're not alone. Here are the answers to the most common questions our customers ask.
Storage & Unit Features
What size units are available and how do I know what size I need?
We offer units ranging from small 5x5 (closet-sized) to large 10x20 (garage-sized) and even larger or extended height. Check out our size guide, or give us a call and we'll help you find the perfect fit.
Are there power outlets inside the units?
Most units do not include electricity but select specialty or vehicle units may. Contact us if you need a unit with power so we can match you with the right option.
Is pest control done regularly?
Yes, we work with licensed professionals for regular pest control to keep your belongings safe and our facility clean. Your belongings deserve a safe and sanitary space.
Can I store a vehicle, motorcycle, trailer, RV, or boat?
Definitely! We offer quite a few options for vehicle storage. Depending on your needs for the season, we offer outdoor easy-access parking, as well as covered and enclosed storage options. We also offer year-round indoor climate warehouse parking. Let us know what you need to store and we’ll match you with the right space.
Are the units climate-controlled?
Our closest climate-controlled units are located just 5 minutes away with Solo Storage. Not everyone benefits from a climate-controlled unit, so ask us if you're unsure whether you need one. Climate-controlled units protect your items from extreme temperatures and humidity. Perfect for electronics, furniture, photos, media, musical instruments and more!
Billing & Payments
How much does a storage unit cost?
View our prices here. We offer competitive rates, flexible month-to-month leases, and move-in specials! Contact us directly for a quick quote or reserve online.
Is there a minimum rental period?
No long-term commitments are required! All rentals are month-to-month. Stay the length of time that you need and just give us a 10-day notice when you’re ready to move out.
Do I need insurance for my items?
We recommend stored items be insured for your own peace of mind. Your existing homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy often covers the contents of a storage unit, but always check with your agent first. Our facility takes every precaution to keep your belongings safe but we are not liable for loss or damage to your stored items.
We can also assist you with purchasing low-cost coverage through our SafeStor insurance program,an affordable plan specifically for storage units, covering your goods against major risks like fire, storms, theft, and more.

Pay online, by phone, by mail, or in person - whatever works best for you! We also offer autopay, so you never miss a payment.
What happens if I pay late?
Life happens; we get it. We will email a reminder notice prior to your due date. We provide a 5-day grace period for your convenience. If your payment is late, a late fee will apply, and access to your unit will be temporarily suspended until payment is made in full.
Will I get a refund if I move out before my due date?
We bill on a monthly cycle, so we do not offer partial refunds for unused days. To make the most of your rental, plan your move close to your billing date. If you have questions, our team can help with planning the best time to vacate.

Can someone else access my unit for me?
Yes. You can authorize another person on your account. Just let us know, and make sure they have the gate code.
What are the move-out requirements?
Moving out is easy! Just let us know the date you’re planning to vacate. We ask for a 10-day written or verbal notice before your next due date.
Be sure to remove all your items, sweep out the unit, and remove your personal lock. We do not permit dumpster use, so make sure to take everything with you. Once your unit is clean and empty, we’ll take care of the rest.
What if I don't clean the unit, remove my items, or take off my lock when moving out?
We totally understand that moving can be hectic, but it’s important to fully clear out your unit, remove your lock, and leave the space clean. We ask that you leave your unit in the condition you found it to help us ensure clean facilities for all our customers.
If items are left behind or the unit isn’t emptied, you may be charged a cleaning or disposal fee. If your lock is still on the unit, we will assume you’re still using it, and billing will continue.
If you’re unsure of the move-out process, we’re happy to walk you through it.

What items CAN'T I store?
For safety, you cannot store hazardous materials, flammables, explosives, weapons, illegal items, fertilizer, plants, food, animals, or your children!
While allowed, we strongly recommend that you refrain from storing cremains, personal identifying paperwork, cash, antiques, collectibles, photographs or any valuable item that cannot be replaced. If you’re unsure, just ask us!
Packing Tips for Storage
Packing your boxes
Make moving and storing your belongings easier with a little preparation and the right materials. Here’s how to pack smart and keep your items safe.
Start with a Plan
Create a list of everything you’ll be storing, along with sizes or quantities.
Pack boxes full but not overstuffed as bulging boxes may tip, and underfilled boxes can collapse.
Use packing paper, bubble wrap, towels, or blankets to fill empty space and prevent shifting.
Seal all boxes with strong packing tape for added protection.
Keep boxes under 30 lbs. for safe lifting, and pack heavy items (like books or tools) in smaller boxes.
Label & Track Your Items
Label each box clearly with its contents and room.
Mark “Fragile” on delicate items.
Keep a master list with photos or descriptions at home for reference.
Final Tips
Never store flammable, perishable, or hazardous materials.
When in doubt, add more padding! It’s better to overprotect than risk damage.
Keep frequently needed items near the front of your unit.
Packing specific items
Books
Pack books flat to protect their spines.
Line boxes with plastic and use packing paper to fill gaps.
Furniture & Upholstery
Wrap chair legs and wood pieces in packing paper.
Leave slipcovers on and cover upholstered items with plastic furniture covers.
Disassemble large furniture when possible and store flat to save space.
Tie and pad extra table leaves and store tabletops on their edge.
Clothing & Fabric
Use wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes and drapes.
Add dryer sheets or cedar chips for long-term protection.
Store small, fragile items in dresser drawers, using towels or clothes for padding.
Glassware & Dishes
Wrap each piece individually.
Line the bottom and top of the box with packing paper.
Stack plates vertically (on edge) for better protection.
Use crumpled paper between items for cushioning.
Lamps & Lampshades
Pack lamps and shades separately, using plenty of padding.
Don’t use newspaper on fabric or shades, always use clean paper or soft cloth.
Mirrors & Artwork
Wrap in paper or bubble wrap and place in mirror boxes.
Store upright, never flat, and label as “Fragile.”
Final Tips
Never store flammable, perishable, or hazardous materials.
When in doubt, add more padding! It’s better to overprotect than risk damage.
Keep frequently needed items near the front of your unit.
Vehicle storage tips
Keep your vehicle in top shape while in storage with these simple steps:
If storing outdoors, fill your fuel tank to prevent moisture buildup. For indoor storage, vehicles must be stored with low fuel.
Add a fuel stabilizer to protect your gas tank from corrosion.
Get an oil change and top off all fluids. Old oil can damage your engine over time.
Wash and wax your car to protect the exterior from dust and debris and cover your vehicle whether storing inside or out.
Clean the interior thoroughly, including vacuuming and window washing.
Disconnect the battery to avoid drainage, and don’t use the parking brake for long periods. All storage options are on a flat surface. Use wheel chocks instead to prevent brake seizing.
Animal-proof your vehicle by covering it and sealing any small engine compartment openings to keep critters out. Use dryer sheets on the interior for added protection.
Business storage tips
Self-storage can be a great solution for businesses looking to maximize space and stay organized:
Store files, records, and paperwork to free up office space.
Keep additional equipment, tools, or machinery safely stored when not in use. It’s perfect for contractors, landscapers, and service businesses.
Expand your home office by keeping work materials separate and organized.
Manage retail overflow by storing seasonal stock and rotating inventory as needed.
Reduce costs with flexible month-to-month leasing, which is ideal for startups or businesses in transition.
Use storage for temporary needs during remodeling, office moves, or staging. Your items stay safe and accessible.
